We reside in the Milky Way galaxy, which is part of the Local Group collection of galaxies – numbering over fifty. This forms part of the larger Virgo Supercluster, which itself resides within the enormous Laniakea Supercluster. Here we find ourselves with some 100,000 more galaxies...our nearest neighbours. Laniakea is a Hawaiian world, meaning “immense heaven”.

Astronomers estimate there are around ten million superclusters in the observable universe. On the one hand, we are utterly insignificant in the immense & almost endless reach of the cosmos...yet at the same time we are all uniquely important: children of the universe, living in starlight. Born from stars. Returning to the stars.

In Superclusters.
